The Washington West African Center provides free tax preparation services for the members of the community. Please note that this is a FREE service available by appointments only on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 5pm.
Since the Summer of last year (2023), WAWAC has been engaging with the IRS to become a VITA site and after successfully fulfilling all requirements and completing all trainings, we are happy to inform you that we have signed to become an official VITA site through the IRS.
The IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs offer free basic tax return preparation to qualified individuals. The VITA program has operated for over 50 years and WAWAC is excited to be an official partner.
