February 29, 2024

On Friday, February 23rd, from 5-7pm, WAWAC got a special invite from the Edmonds Food Bank to join them at Trinity Lutheran in Lynnwood for a dinner to honor volunteers.

The Edmonds Food Bank, our awesome partner, welcomed us warmly. They do amazing work, and we’re proud to team up with them. We’ve been working together on lots of stuff, like giving out food to over 100 families every week.

At the event, we got to meet new people and catch up with old friends. We talked about what we do for the West African Community and joined in on different conversations. It was a lot of fun! They invited all the volunteers who’ve been helping out since 2020, along with their partners. It was nice because the pandemic made it hard to say thank you properly. They thanked us and all the other volunteers for working hard and said it’s important to keep helping each other out for a better future.

We also talked about important stuff like the Working Families Tax Credit, Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) support, and Domestic Violence. It was a great way to spread the word and help more people.
